Kim Jae Ryong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, member of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected factories, enterprises and mines in Tanchon and Komdok areas.

He learnt in detail about the situation of several units such as the Tanchon Magnesia Factory, the Tanchon Smeltery, the Tanchon Mining Machine Factory, the Ryongyang Mine, etc. and stressed the need to revitalize the production by turning production processes into power-saving ones by dint of the spirit of self-reliance and the might of science and technology.

Walking round the Kumgol Mine and Dressing Plant No. 3 of the Komdok Mining Complex, he encouraged its workers including members of the Ko Kyong Chan-led Hero Workteam and called for decisively increasing the extraction rate in concentration and the quality of concentrated ore.

The field consultative meeting called on officials to properly map out management and business strategy and meticulously organize and lead economic affairs to ensure profitability, and discussed measures to let relevant units positively support factories, enterprises and mines in Tanchon and Komdok areas.

On the other hand, he learnt about the construction of the Tanchon Power Station, discussed the issues of increasing the level of mechanization in the construction and fully supplying materials and satisfying transport requirements and took measures for them.

He also made a field survey of the farming at the Suui Cooperative Farm in Hochon County.
