Inaugural ceremony of township area of Samjiyon County held in presence of Chairman Kim Jong Un

A ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Township of Samjiyon County was held with splendor on Dec. 2.

Present at the inaugural ceremony was Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The township area of Samjiyon County, the glorious land with the birthplace of the Great Leader Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp, has been changed as a model of socialist modern mountain cities which intensively shows modern civilization. It forcefully demonstrated the firm faith and will of the Party and the people to glorify the immortal revolutionary history and exploits of Kim Jong Il for all ages and made a revolutionary springboard to implement the Party's plan on local construction with success.

Amid the playing of welcome music, Chairman Kim Jong Un came out to the venue of the inaugural ceremony.

A working woman, soldier-builder and shock-brigader presented him with fragrant bouquets.

Attending the ceremony were Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and First Vice-Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, and Pak Pong Ju, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, Vice-Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and Vice-Chairman of the Party Central Committee.

Also on hand was Kim Jae Ryong, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Member of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK.

Participating in the ceremony were O Su Yong, Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK; Tong Jong Ho, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet; Ri Sang Won, Chairman of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK; Pak Hun, Minister of Construction and Building-Materials Industry; Yang Myong Chol, Chairman of the Samjiyon County Committee of the WPK, chairpersons of the provincial Party committees and people's committees, officials of the ministries and national agencies, commanding officers and shock-brigaders of Division 216, and officials, working people and schoolchildren in Ryanggang Province including Samjiyon County.

An inaugural address was made by Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and First Vice-Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and President of the Presidium of the SPA of the DPRK.

Vice-Chairman Choe Ryong Hae stressed that the present change in the township area of Samjiyon County is a precious result of the noble moral obligation and the great leadership based on selfless, devoted efforts for the people of the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who proposed building up the county and made devoted efforts day and night as a designer, builder and owner of construction.

He said:

The township area of Samjiyon County has been built into a great creation of the Mallima era and a model of modern mountain cities admirably applying the architectural idea based on the Korean nation-first principle and the Juche-based architectural aesthetic idea by the revolutionary spirit of single-minded unity and heroic struggle of self-reliance of the Korean people who have turned out as one under the leadership of the Party.

The completion of the construction of the township area of Samjiyon County demonstrated all over the world the irresistible might of the perfect unity of the Party and the people and the inexhaustible potentiality of independent development and proved in reality the vitality of the Party's line on self-reliance that we can do anything when we rise up in firm unity, believing in our own strength.

Comrade Choe Ryong Hae called for making an all-out dash for changing Kim Jong Il's home county into a people's paradise best in the world more wonderfully and hastening the cause of building a powerful socialist country in the revolutionary spirit of single-minded unity and with the might of self-reliance under the leadership of respected Kim Jong Un.

Then, there was a march in an array made by the builders of Division 216 who have performed miracles and feats in the construction of the township area of Samjiyon County.

Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly waved his hand to acknowledge the cheers of the masses as well as the builders marching in fine array, making a report of victory, a report of honour.

The marvellous and proud change in the sacred place of the revolution will powerfully promote the building of a powerful socialist country, idealizing a bright future of the country which is vigorously advancing along the road of self-reliance and prosperity while resolutely smashing the trials and challenges of history with great confidence in victory under the wise guidance of the respected Supreme Leader.
