Such memorial events as memorial meetings and seminars on exploits were held by the Soviet peace fund of Russia, the Maritime Territorial Branch Committee, the Khabarovsk Territorial Branch Committee and the Amur Regional Branch Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the All-Russia Lenin Young Communist League and the Association for the Study of the Juche Idea in Tynda City and at the Far East State Science Library on July 7 and 8 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung.

Speeches were made at the events attended by personages of the Russian government, political parties, parliament, organizations and institutions.

The chairperson of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, a member of the Federation Council, the chairperson of the Korean War Veterans' Council and the chief of the International Solidarity Group with the DPRK said that President Kim Il Sung was an outstanding leader and genuine father of the people, who devoted his all to the prosperity of the country and well-being of the people, a statesman who remained unfazed by any difficulties and a peerlessly great man recognized by the world.

The exploits of the President who provided the historic roots of the relations between Russia and the DPRK are now being carried forward and developed on a new stage under the deep concern of the top leaders of the two countries, they noted.
