Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, looked round the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu.

He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and First Vice-Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.

Also accompanying him were Army General Pak Jong Chon, Chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, commanders of services and corps commanders of the army and senior officials of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Chairman Kim Jong Un looked round the revolutionary battle sites, historic places and camping houses in Samjiyon County including the Chongbong Bivouac and the Paektusan Secret Camp, the Mupho Bivouac and the Taehongdan Revolutionary Battle Site, remembering the sacred footprints of the Great Leader Kim Il Sung and noble soul of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners permeated in the battle zones of the Paektu. He learned about the preservation of the revolutionary battle sites in Mt. Paektu and study tour of them, and explained the historic importance of the education in the revolutionary traditions and the ways to strengthen it on a higher level.

He ran horseback on the Paektu Plateau together with the accompanying commanding personnel, impressively recalling the sanguinary history of the guerrillas who had written the grandiose first page of the history of the Korean revolution, shedding warm blood in the wilderness of the Paektu.

He said that the Paektu Plateau is like a grand open-air revolutionary museum full of treasures of the revolution of great significance in the education in the revolutionary traditions, and continued.

Even a tree and a blade of grass on the Paektu Plateau seem to represent the desire of the great Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for a powerful country and reflect the soul of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners who fought bloody battles to liberate the country.

The camping houses of the revolutionary battle sites have been wonderfully built, rebuilt and repaired to intensify the education in the revolutionary traditions. It is the strategic task of the Korean revolution at present to further intensify the education in the revolutionary traditions.

Now the new generations who have not lived through trials of the revolution have emerged as the main force, new problems are raised in the world political structure and social and class relations and the imperialists and class enemies get evermore vicious in their moves to break down the ideological, revolutionary and class positions of our Party. Under this condition, we should always live and struggle with offensive ideology of the Paektu. It is an important and vital issue linking the generations of the revolution to arm ourselves firmly with the great idea and spirit running through the revolutionary traditions of the Paektu.

Chairman Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over the fact that in the revolutionary battle sites, thorough measures have been taken to preserve them permanently and they are taken good care of with responsible manner, and highly praised the loyalty of the officials, lecturers and employees of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu.

He said the revolutionary battle sites and historic places in the area of Mt. Paektu are associated with the revolutionary idea of the great Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and added:

In order to know their idea and the revolutionary idea and indomitable revolutionary spirit of our Party, one must be given a lot of education through study tour of the revolutionary battle sites. Particularly, if the leading personnel of the revolution want to firmly prepare and arm themselves as steadfast and competent political activists like Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, they should train themselves ideologically through study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in Mt. Paektu.

It is the consistent resolution and will of the WPK to permanently defend, carry forward and develop the glorious revolutionary traditions that started from Mt. Paektu for breaking through the difficulties of the revolution and opening up the road of advance with the indomitable offensive ideology based on the great traditions.

Chairman Kim Jong Un presented the ways to educate all the Party members and other working people in the revolutionary traditions of the Paektu and thoroughly apply them to all fields of social life.

He said that he made time to look round the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu in order to create a social atmosphere of further strengthening the education in revolutionary traditions to implant the indomitable revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu in the hearts of the Party members, working people, service personnel of the People's Army and school youth and children in keeping with the current situation and environment of our revolution and the essential demand of the arduous and protracted revolution, in which the entire Party, whole army and all the people are making an all-out dash for the building of a prospering socialist country in the spirit of self-reliance, holding fast to our Party's line of self-development and self-prosperity as their life and soul despite the unprecedented blockade and pressure of the imperialists. He stressed once again that we must defend forever and fully embody the revolutionary traditions of the Paektu, great encyclopedia of the Korean revolution and valuable wealth of our nation.

After looking round the revolutionary battle sites, Chairman Kim Jong Un ascended Mt. Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution, again.
