Pak Pong Ju Inspects Co-op Farms in Pyongyang City

 

Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, made field survey of co-op farms in Pyongyang City.

Officials and agricultural workers of the Namsa Co-op Farm of Rangnang District and the Songsin Vegetable Cooperative Farm in Sadong District are securing a guarantee for rich harvest even under the unfavorable weather conditions by boosting the introduction of scientific farming method.

Learning about the harvest prospect in the fields to which the rice-enriching method was introduced, Pak Pong Ju stressed the need for officials to bear in mind that scientific farming is the key to increased grain production and successfully conclude this year's farm work by positively introducing advanced farming method.

He took technical steps for thoroughly establishing an irrigation and drainage system, continually raising the level of the farming technique and increasing the area under cultivation on a large scale as the advantages of the rice-enriching method have been proved in reality.
