Official Coronavirus Statistics

According to the information of the state emergency epidemic prevention headquarters, over 392 920 new persons with fever, some 152 600 recoveries and 8 deaths were reported from 18:00 of May 14 to 18:00 of May 15 throughout the country.

As of 18:00 of May 15 since late April, the total number of persons with fever is over 1 213 550, of which more than 648 630 have recovered and at least 564 860 are under medical treatment.

The death toll stands at 50.

Lockdown Continues in DPRK

Streets and units of Pyongyang City, the DPRK, have still been locked under the situation that the state epidemic prevention system was switched over to the maximum emergency epidemic prevention system to curb the spread of the epidemic. 

DPRK Focuses Efforts on Curbing Spread of Epidemic

Emergency epidemic prevention organs at all levels in the DPRK focus efforts on blocking off and eliminating the source of spread of epidemic true to the decisions made at the 8th Political Bureau Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

All emergency epidemic prevention organs in Pyongyang City including Mangyongdae District have properly carried on the work to ensure the smooth business and production activities under the situation in which relevant areas are locked down and working, production and residential units are closed to each other.

Emergency epidemic prevention organs across the country have directed primary efforts to raising the public awareness on the importance of disinfection in checking and eliminating the source of epidemic.

They have also taken practical measures to thoroughly disinfect every working and living areas.

Officials of the emergency epidemic prevention organs at all levels have worked hard with determination to take the lead in the anti-epidemic campaign while perfectly checking and eliminating the source of spread of the malicious epidemic.

Meanwhile, medical workers across the country have turned out as one in the work to thoroughly quarantine persons with fever and abnormal symptoms and take steps for strengthening medical supervision and giving proactive treatment, fully aware of the importance of intensively examining the health of all inhabitants.

Timely Measures Taken to Curb Spread of Epidemic in North Hwanghae Province

North Hwanghae Province of the DPRK has taken timely measures to implement the decisions of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee.

The province has massively disseminated the common sense of knowledge on the epidemic prevention and treatment, mindful of the importance of raising the public consciousness of scientific epidemic prevention in promptly overcoming the current health crisis.

Through brisk agitprop, Sariwon City, Hwangju County and other areas of the province have awakened all their inhabitants so as to make them not to relax and slack but live and work with high political awareness and consciousness.

Industrial establishments in the province including the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Sariwon Textile Mill are intensifying the disinfection of worksites and living spaces while putting the production on a normal track.

Epidemic prevention posts were reinforced at farms of the province to strictly check the inroads of the malicious virus.

Officials of the provincial Party and power organs are rapidly taking relevant measures, paying primary attention to the supply of materials for the working people and inhabitants.
