A meeting for celebrating the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung was held in Moscow on April 9, under the co-sponsorship of the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia and the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK.

Attending the meeting were officials and members of the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia, members of its art troupe, officials and members of the Russia-Korea Friendship Association, Alexander Mostov, Chairman of the DPRK International Solidarity Group, Sin Hong Chol, Ambassador, and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Moscow.

The participants laid floral baskets and bouquets before the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and made a bow to them.

Kim Chil Song, Chairman of the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia, in his congratulatory speech highly praised President Kim Il Sung as a great man who embarked on the road of revolution in his teens and organized and led the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory to achieve the historic cause of Korea's liberation and founded the DPRK after national liberation.

He noted that the President reliably safeguarded the country from outsiders’ aggression, built a powerful socialist nation independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defence and put forward national reunification as the most important task for the Korean nation and had devoted all his life to implementing it.

Saying the revolutionary cause of the President is being creditably carried forward under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, he emphasized that the President will always be alive in the hearts of humankind.

Then speeches were made.

The speakers spoke highly of the President's revolutionary life and exploits for the country and the revolution, the times and history and the development of the DPRK-Russia relations.

They also lauded Kim Jong Un as a peerlessly great man who put the DPRK on the status of a power recognized by the world by successfully carrying forward the cause of the President and materializing his desire.

At the end of the meeting, its participants watched an art performance.
