[02.08] Measures Taken for Maximum Emergency System in DPRK

The state emergency anti-epidemic system has been shifted to the maximum emergency system in the DPRK, according to the decision made at the emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. 

So the anti-epidemic work has been further intensified. 

The emergency anti-epidemic headquarters at all levels and all fields and units are ratcheting up their political and information work to keep the masses alert to the situation and encourage them to actively take part in the anti-epidemic work. 

A complete lockdown of Kaesong City and isolation of its each district and region from the other and quarantine and examination of its citizens have been carried out in a strict manner. 

The city is now quickly supplied with materials for anti-epidemic work including testing kits, protective garments, masks and non-contact thermometers and all sorts of medicine, medical supplies and disinfectants. 

The Cabinet, ministries and national institutions are taking measures to supply foodstuff, sanitary items and fuel necessary for the people's living in the locked-down areas and thoroughly carrying them out without fail. 

The Central Emergency Anti-epidemic Headquarters makes sure that blocking and isolation are further intensified on borders, demarcation areas, coastal areas, additional anti-epidemic checkpoints and personnel established and posted in key places and water examination conducted in a more responsible manner as required by the current seasonal conditions. 

Public health workers are striving to ensure that medical examination of the employees of institutions and enterprises and inhabitants is intensified for the flawless anti-epidemic work and that the people wear masks and disinfect their hands as required by the toughened anti-epidemic measures. 

The emergency anti-epidemic headquarters at all levels make sure that disinfection and temperature measuring are conducted more responsibly in public transport means, service facilities and public areas, while engaging in a meticulous educational work to help all the people fulfill their duties as citizens in preventing the epidemic. 

The officials in the field of inspection and quarantine for exports and imports across the country are strictly observing the anti-epidemic rules in the examination and disinfection of the delivered goods.

 

Comrade Choe Ryong Hae Learns about Emergency Anti-epidemic Work in Kaesong City

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, acquainted himself with the emergency anti-epidemic work in Kaesong City. 

As part of the efforts to implement the decision made at the emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party, Choe Ryong Hae made rounds of anti-epidemic checkpoints urgently established in the vicinity of the city and learnt in detail about the anti-epidemic work and supply of materials. 

He called for strictly performing disinfection and quarantine inspection in accordance with the anti-epidemic requirements under the situation that materials including foodstuff and medicine necessary for the living of inhabitants are intensively sent to the city, thanks to the measure taken by the Party and the state. 

The field consultative meeting discussed the matter to let officials and members involved in the anti-epidemic work carry out the directions and assignments of the Party Central Committee most correctly with the boundless loyalty to the Party, sense of responsibility and devotion. It also discussed the matter to take thoroughgoing and safe measures through close cooperation among relevant institutions.
