A photo exhibition and seminar were held at the DPRK embassy in Moscow on August 5 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's historic visit to the Russian Federation and the 10th anniversary of his visit to the Siberian and Far Eastern Regions.

Present there were the DPRK ambassador to Russia and his embassy members and figures of the Russian government, political parties, organizations and institutions including the Foreign Ministry, the State Duma, the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, the "Orchestra of the 21st Century", the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, the Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Korean War Veterans' Council.

Alexander Mostov, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG and Head of the Preparatory Committee, attended a seminar and a photo exhibition at the embassy. He was accompanied by Nikita Dobrov, Head of the Russian Executive Committee, and Lyudmila Zakharova, Scientific Secretary of the Institute of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The participants laid bouquets and made a bow before the art work at the embassy depicting Eternal President Kim Il Sung and Eternal Chairman Kim Jong Il standing together.

Then they looked around the photo exhibition hall.

Displayed at the hall were photos dealing with the exploits performed by great Comrade Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to strengthen and develop the DPRK-Russia friendship.

Also on display there were photos showing the development of our Republic.

There was a seminar.

The director of the Asia 1 Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the development of the bilateral relations in many fields conforms to the interests of the Russian and Korean peoples, praising the exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in the development of the DPRK-Russia relations.

The secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation who is also the head of the Russia-DPRK Friendship Parliamentary Group of the State Duma of Russia said that the visit to Russia by Chairman Kim Jong Il who is an outstanding politician served as an important landmark in the modern political history of the two countries and as a significant occasion of providing a firm foundation for the establishment of the strategic partnership.

The chairperson of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia expressed pleasure over the successful inheritance of the revolutionary cause of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il by Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The head of the Orchestra of the 21st Century of Russia recalled how he admired at the profound knowledge of all sectors, including politics, economy and culture, possessed by Kim Jong Il, when meeting him. He pledged to work hard for the cultural exchange between the two countries in the future.
