On September 17, pagers exploded almost at the same time in the whole area of Lebanon, causing many casualties.

The Lebanese minister of Public Health said that the explosion left eight people dead and more than 2 800 others injured. Among them, 200 were in a critical condition, he added.

Among the wounded, there were members of Hezbollah, an organization of the Lebanese patriotic forces, and the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon.

First-aid treatment rooms were filled with the wounded and most of them hurt their arms and legs.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health called on all hospitals to maintain an emergency mobilization posture so that they could accommodate emergency cases.

The persons concerned said that Israeli troops guided explosions with the batteries of pagers as the targets.

When lithium batteries of pagers are superheated, they smoke or melt, and even a fire may break out. In case of a fire, the temperature will reach 590℃  to the maximum.

The Lebanese government said that it would investigate into the crime thoroughly, branding it as a vicious act of terrorism, while Hezbollah vowed to retaliate, asserting that Israel committed the criminal offensive.
