Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, on August 15.

The message reads.

Moscow

Your Excellency Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin

President of the Russian Federation

I, in the name of the Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and its people, send warm greetings to you and the Government and people of the Russian Federation on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The DPRK-Russia friendship sealed in blood in the struggle against the common enemy during the arduous anti-Japanese war is invariably carried forward decade after decade and century after century despite all kinds of challenges of history. Today, too, the Korean people reverentially remember the officers and men of the Red Army who devoted their precious lives to the sacred cause for Korea's liberation.

I express the conviction that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries with a long history and tradition would be further strengthened and developed onto a new strategic level in accordance with the agreement reached at our meeting in Vladivostok in 2019.

Availing myself of this opportunity, I sincerely wish you good health and greater success in your responsible work for prosperity of the country and happiness of the people.

Kim Jong Un

President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
