Chairman Kim Jong Un guides fire training of mortar artillery units of corps of KPA

Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided a fire training of mortar artillery units of the army corps.

The training was watched by senior officials of the Central Committee of the WPK.

It was aimed at judging and assessing the ability of firepower battle of the mortar artillery of the army corps through competition and increasing the enthusiasm for bringing about revolution in training and expanding successes and at learning about the performance of the light guns and heavy weapons of the People's Army.

The training was conducted in the way of deciding the ranking by putting together the number of hit shells and the time required for carrying out the firepower mission after the mortar artillery units selected from the army corps took the firing areas and fired at the targets in order of firing fixed by lottery. 

In the training the commanders of the army corps gave a fire control over the mortar artillery units of their corps and the artillery firing methods were determined by their decisions.

The mortar artillery demonstrated the combat efficiency of the one-match-for-a-hundred artillerymen ready to fully carry out any combat tasks of fire support.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over the fact that all the army corps have ideologically accepted the Party's idea on attaching importance to artillerymen and prepared the fire units well to cope with the modern warfare skilfully in the flames of launching the crack gunner movement.

He praised time and again the amazing marksmanship of the mortar artillery companies of all the army corps which got excellent marks including the second and 10th corps that fired 60 shells and correctly hit the targets with all of them, and conveyed his thanks to the firing areas at the observation post.

A diploma, medal and badge of crack gunner were awarded to the mortar artillery company under the second corps that took the first place in the ranking of training judgment, and crack gunner unit certificates and badges to all the units which got wonderful marks in the competition.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

It is important for the People's Army to strengthen training for making a good use of mortar and other light guns and heavy weapons in operations and battles. Since the use of the artillery force in modern warfare is the most important factor of deciding the outcome of operations and battles and furthermore, that of a war, we should put greater spurs to combat preparedness of the artillerymen under the slogan of attaching importance to and strengthening artillerymen.

Comrade Kim Jong Un put forward crucial tasks for training of artillerymen and modernization of artillery.

Chairman Kim Jong Un inspects Pursuit and Assault Plane Regiment under Air and Antiaircraft Division of KPA

Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected the Pursuit and Assault Plane Regiment under the Air and Antiaircraft Division of the Korean People's Army in the Western District.

He was accompanied by Ri Pyong Chol, Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, General Pak Jong Chon, Chief of the General Staff of the KPA, and other senior officials of the Party Central Committee.

He learned about the preparedness for sortie of the fighters belonging to the pursuit and assault regiment and the performance of the air defence task in the western area.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the regiment is reliably defending the territorial air in the western area of the country, with ardent desire to repay the trust of the Party and the motherland, praised their efforts and put forward crucial tasks which would serve as a guideline in further strengthening the combat efficiency of the regiment.

He met and talked with aces of the regiment.

Showing deep trust to them time and again that the territorial air of the country is entrusted entirely to them, he called upon the combat pilots to more firmly arm themselves with the Juche tactics of the Party, further intensify flight training and wage a vigorous struggle to have higher combat aviation and fighting capacity with a determination to devote their lives to the Party and the motherland.

Kim Jong Un, together with the accompanying senior officials, watched the flight training of the pursuit and assault plane regiment.

Seeing the brave air movements and combat actions of the combat pilots of the regiment, he expressed great satisfaction and gave a big hand to them.

Kim Jong Un said:

In the training today, the dependable pilots of the Party demonstrated that they are always ready to make a sortie once they are given an order. The combat pilots of the regiment with the indomitable spirit of national defence and self-sacrificing spirit clearly showed their will to defend the territorial air by displaying their high ability to perform the flying combat task. I am deeply moved by the efforts and devotion of the pilots who are always loyal to the Party's order and call. 

He sent his regards to the entire combat pilots and other service personnel of the regiment and their wives.
