According to information of the state emergency anti-epidemic headquarters, no new COVID-19 fever cases were reported from 18:00 of August 8 to 18:00 of August 9 throughout the country.

A national meeting of reviewing the emergency anti-epidemic work, convened by the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the Cabinet of the DPRK, took place in the capital city of Pyongyang on Wednesday.

Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, guided the meeting.

When the respected General Secretary appeared at the platform of the venue of the meeting, all the participants broke into enthusiastic cheers for him, peerless leader, who has vigorously led the Party, state and people to the final victory of the great anti-epidemic war with his tireless and devoted efforts and noble love for the future, out of his heavy duty for taking care of the destiny of the country and the people.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made an important speech at the historic meeting that declares victory in the maximum emergency anti-epidemic campaign.

After making a general analysis of the anti-epidemic situation that has been encountered since the activation of the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system, he, on behalf of the Party Central Committee and the government of the DPRK, solemnly declared the victory in the maximum emergency anti-epidemic campaign for exterminating the novel coronavirus that had made inroads into our territory and protecting the lives and health of the people. He also offered warm congratulations and greetings of thanks to the people and the service personnel of the People's Army across the country who successfully concluded the great anti-epidemic campaign.

Affirming that the priceless victory gained by us constitutes the victory of our Party's anti-epidemic policy, the victory of our state's counter-crisis strategy, the victory of the tenacity and the single-minded unity peculiar to our people and the great victory brought by the advantageous Korean-style socialist system, he highly praised the workers in the anti-epidemic and public health sectors across the country and army medics for having dedicated all their strength, wisdom and sincerity to the hard and active work for bringing earlier the victory in the maximum emergency anti-epidemic campaign for protecting the security of the state and the people's wellbeing from the grave health crisis.

Analyzing and reviewing the invaluable successes, experience and lessons gained and drawn in the efforts for ceaselessly carrying out this year's plans in agricultural, constructional and key industrial sectors and for maintaining smooth progress in the overall state work under the emergency crisis situation, he clarified the principles and important tasks to be fulfilled in further consolidating the victory in the maximum emergency anti-epidemic campaign, maintaining the steel-strong anti-epidemic barrier and intensifying the anti-epidemic work until the end of the global health crisis.

Calling on the participants to creditably guarantee the security of the state and the people and dynamically accelerate the great historic cause for the comprehensive development of Korean-style socialism with firm conviction and optimism in our struggle and future, he wished all the most esteemed and beloved people good health and all the families across the country wellbeing.

When the General Secretary of the WPK concluded his speech, all the participants raised thunderous cheers of "Hurrah!" repeatedly, recollecting in tears the great exploits and devoted service for the people he has made to bring about a shining victory to be etched in history, steering the great and acute anti-epidemic war in the van with his death-defying will for the people's happiness and wellbeing.

The meeting heard a report made by Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet.

Then, Ri Chung Gil, Department Director of the C.C., WPK who is Commander of the State Emergency Anti-Epidemic Headquarters, Kim Yong Hwan, Chief Secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK who is Commander of the Pyongyang City Emergency Anti-Epidemic Division, Ri Yong Gil, Minister of National Defence who is Deputy Commander of the Emergency Anti-Epidemic Division of the Ministry of National Defence, Ri Song Hak, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet, and Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of the WPK Central Committee, took the floor.

Saying with pride that our country had prevented the inroads of the malignant virus for two years and three months to hit a new record in the history of the anti-epidemic work despite the global health crisis and that it restored the complete stability in the anti-epidemic work in a short period, the reporter and speakers stressed this is a miracle unprecedented in the world's public health history.

They recalled that the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee led by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, in its capacity as the de facto general headquarters for the anti-epidemic work, had led the anti-epidemic war to a great victory by focusing all the manpower, materials and sci-tech forces of the country on the anti-epidemic work after turning it into a sacred war for protection of the people just since the outbreak of the most serious emergency in which the malignant virus made inroads into the country.

He summarized and analyzed the anti-epidemic situation up to now since the effectuation of the top-class emergency anti-epidemic system and, on behalf of the Party Central Committee and the government of the DPRK, solemnly declared a victory in the top-class emergency anti-epidemic campaign to eradicate novel corona virus that infiltrated into the territory of the country and protect the lives and health of the people. DPRK Premier Makes Report at National Meeting of Reviewing Emergency Anti-Epidemic Work

Kim Tok Hun, Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a report at the national meeting of reviewing the emergency anti-epidemic work.

Noting that our country hit a new record in the world history of anti-epidemic work by preventing the inroads of the malignant virus for 27 months amid the global health crisis, and restored the complete stability in the anti-epidemic work within some 80 days, the reporter said that it is a miracle unprecedented in the world health history brought about by our Party and people under the outstanding guidance of the great leader.

The days of the great anti-epidemic war, conducted from last May when the most serious emergency case, in which the malignant virus made inroads into our country, occurred, were a stirring period during which the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee's noble intention that the Party must defend the destiny of the country and the safety of the peoples' lives without fail, was demonstrated at the highest level, the reporter said, adding:

The Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee, as the de facto general anti-epidemic headquarters, had convened tens of major Party meetings since the state anti-epidemic work was switched over to the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system. It learned about the problems arising in the anti-epidemic work directly on the spot, concentrated the labor, material and sci-tech forces of the country on the anti-epidemic work and stabilized the anti-epidemic situation at an early date.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un gave instructions to activate the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system in the state anti-epidemic work at the 8th Political Bureau Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee in May last and clearly indicated the principles, tasks and ways to cope with the sudden health crisis, including the issue of enforcing the regional and inter-unit lockdown and perfectly checking the inroads of the malignant virus.

All the people, encouraged by his outstanding leadership and indefatigable devotion, turned out as one in the anti-epidemic campaign with high sense of responsibility that they are in direct charge of the anti-epidemic work during the maximum emergency anti-epidemic period. Displayed among many officials and working people were such good virtues as sending medicines, anti-epidemic materials, food and funds to anti-epidemic, curative and preventive organs, families of war veterans and disabled soldiers and households in difficulties and hardship. The anti-epidemic and public health sectors flexibly coordinated the anti-epidemic measures to cope with the ever-changing global spread of the malignant virus, developed new test technologies, enhanced the test capabilities, established treatment methods suited to our people's constitutional characters and our country's specific conditions and took thoroughgoing measures to ensure the promptness, correctness, safety and efficiency in the supply of medicines, thus contributing to checking the spread of the pandemic disease and minimizing the number of casualties.

As a result, our country defused within 80 odd days the health crisis brought by the pandemic disease that had caused more than 390 000 daily fever cases at the maximum early after the activation of the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system. Moreover, it restored the favorable anti-epidemic situation with the fatality rate remaining at the lowest of the world, 0.0016 percent, a surprising success.

With his insight into the serious situation, in which it was impossible to supply enough food to the people and the economy of the country was on the verge of doldrums due to the lockdown of every province, city and county and to the lack of raw and other materials supply in the early period of the pandemic-brought health crisis, the General Secretary made sure that an emergency instruction of the Cabinet was issued to ceaselessly carry on the immediate economic work, setting it as a top priority task to thoroughly ensure the health, safety of lives and convenience of the people.

Thus, all the sectors of socialist construction, including metal, chemical, electric, coal and light industrial, agricultural and construction sectors waged a dynamic struggle while taking proper measures to establish a well-regulated work system and order as required by the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system and push forward the production and construction without cease. Consequently, marked progress was made in carrying out their national economic plans, pushing ahead with farming processes as scheduled and finishing the structural construction of 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area and the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm as planned.

The proud successes made in the period of the maximum emergency anti-epidemic campaign are a brilliant fruition of the far-sighted wisdom and outstanding and experienced leadership of the General Secretary, and precious gains of our people who displayed fervent patriotism and loyalty and made tireless efforts with a strong will, firmly trusting and following him only.

What is most important in the state emergency anti-epidemic work is to more thoroughly establish the monolithic leadership system of the Party Central Committee.

It is necessary to firmly equip all the people with the anti-epidemic policy of our Party, definitely turn the anti-epidemic work into an all-people work and thoroughly observe the anti-epidemic rules in the work and production activities in order to expand the successes in the grand anti-epidemic campaign and creditably ensure the socialist construction and the security of the country.

We should also further round off the anti-epidemic mechanism and system to perfectly curb and terminate the outbreak, influx and spread of any pandemic disease, intensify the state-backed investment and support for the anti-epidemic sector and firmly consolidate the material and technical foundations for proactively coping with any threat and challenge.

We should tighten the closure of border, frontline and coastline and keep maximum vigilance to prevent any slight gap or defect in the anti-epidemic work given that the global health crisis gets worse with the emergence of different coronavirus sub-variants and the outbreak of other pandemic diseases like monkeypox to threaten the life of humankind and the south Korean puppet regime gets more undisguised in its despicable and vicious moves to inject the malignant virus again into our territory.

All the sectors and units should conduct the operation and guidance for economic construction and improvement of the people's living standard proactively and minutely in accordance with the changed anti-epidemic situation and objective and subjective conditions by depending on the precious successes gained in the anti-epidemic work in order to implement this year's national economic plans without fail and powerfully accelerate the comprehensive development of socialist construction.

Speech of Commander of State Emergency Anti-epidemic Headquarters

Ri Chung Gil, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea who is commander of the state emergency anti-epidemic headquarters, made a speech at the National Meeting of Reviewing the Emergency Anti-epidemic Work.

He referred to the fact that the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un declared the state anti-epidemic work as a war against COVID-19 and the primary state work, made the state focus all its efforts on the work and took preemptive blockade step and intense anti-epidemic measures unprecedented in the world while establishing a commanding system like the army in the epidemic prevention work.

He said that the General Secretary indicated the orientation and ways for coping with the health crisis created in the country by switching the state anti-epidemic work over to the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system and led the state emergency anti-epidemic headquarters to remain faithful to its main duty.

In the maximum emergency anti-epidemic period, the public anti-epidemic atmosphere have been further improved and the validity, serve-the-people spirit and transparency of the anti-epidemic policies set forth by the Party and government and the potential power of the state controlling the public health crisis by its own effort have been fully demonstrated, he noted, and went on:

Kim Yong Hwan, Сhief Secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea who doubles as commander of the Pyongyang City emergency anti-epidemic division, made a speech at the national meeting of reviewing the emergency anti-epidemic work.

He said that the reality, in which the sudden health crisis created in the country was defused in less than three months, would have been unthinkable without the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who devotedly defended the safety of the country and wellbeing of the people in the van of the anti-epidemic campaign.

He referred to the fact that Comrade Kim Jong Un convened meetings of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee one after another despite evening and dawn, worrying about the life and safety of the people, took measures to lock down every region of the capital city and block every unit by switching the state anti-epidemic work over to the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system, established the regular counter-crisis system and order and gave detailed instructions even on the supply of medicines and treatment methods and measures for ensuring the people's living.

During the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system, the citizens in the capital city suffered from temporary hardship in their living, but they came to cherish the stronger faith that they will have nothing to fear even though they face any ordeal and trial and they will surely win victory as they are led by the General Secretary.

The speaker pledged to further cement the anti-epidemic barrier in the capital city by intensifying the anti-epidemic campaign to make the officials, Party members and working people thoroughly be on their guard against laxity and carelessness and strictly and voluntarily observe the anti-epidemic disciplines and order until the total end of the global pandemic. 

Minister of National Defence Makes Speech at National Meeting of Reviewing Emergency Anti-Epidemic Work

Ri Yong Gil, minister of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea who is deputy commander of the emergency anti-epidemic division of the Ministry of National Defence, made a speech at the National Meeting of Reviewing the Emergency Anti-epidemic Work.

He said that the DPRK has achieved successes in checking the spread of malignant virus in a short period and stabilizing the anti-epidemic situation, adding that this is entirely thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has led in the van the anti-epidemic campaign unprecedented in history and his great exploits will go down for all ages along with the history of the country.

He went on:

Even commanding officers of the Korean People's Army felt extremely uneasy about the unexpected crisis when they heard a report that the 8th Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) was immediately convened on May 12 and the most serious emergency case of the state - a crack was made on our emergency epidemic prevention front which had been firmly defended for two years and three months from February, 2020 - occurred.

At that time the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un indicated anti-epidemic guidelines and struggle stratagems for promptly curbing and controlling the epidemic spread and holding the sure initiative in the anti-epidemic campaign since the outbreak of the first COVID-19 fever case and dispatched KPA service personnel to the forefront of the all-out anti-epidemic campaign.

900 days have passed since the first outbreak of COVID-19 in the world but there has been no such precedent in any other countries hit by the pandemic disease and even those boasting of their developed medical science as curbing the contagious disease rapidly and simultaneously spreading in all areas and restoring the stable anti-epidemic situation within a short period of some 80 days.

The speaker expressed his will to fully discharge his responsibility in correctly implementing the anti-epidemic measures taken by the Party and the state, bearing in mind that he is a defender of the forefront of the emergency anti-epidemic campaign.

Speech of Vice-Premier of DPRK Cabinet at National Meeting of Reviewing Emergency Anti-Epidemic Work

Ri Song Hak, Vice-Premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a speech at the national meeting of reviewing the emergency anti-epidemic work.

He said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un instructed to establish a crisis management system automatically operated and enforced under the epidemic situation after perfectly eradicating defects latent in the public health sector.

He stressed that the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un held it as the top-priority tasks to completely defuse the public health crisis and lay a powerful foundation for durably ensuring the safety of the people's life at major Party meetings at a grave time when the most serious emergency case of the state occurred, indicating orientations and methods for them.

Vice Department Director of WPK Central Committee Makes Speech at Anti-Epidemic Work Reviewing Meeting

It is the universally accepted opinion of the international community that it is necessary to thoroughly disinfect the surface of objects as the malignant virus spreads via objects.

Such scientific clarification can never change no matter how desperately anyone may deny.

As we explained the root cause of the spread of the malignant disease not long ago, its first outbreak was reported in an area near the front. This fact aroused our deep concern and pushed us to suspect the despicable ones in south Korea. As all things concerned indicate a place too clearly in the light of background and circumstances, it is quite natural for us to consider strange objects as vehicles of the malignant pandemic disease.

It is an undeniable fact that a single person or a single object infected with the highly contagious virus may infect many other people in a moment and cause a grave health crisis.

From this scientific view, we come to draw a conclusion that we can no longer overlook the uninterrupted influx of rubbish from south Korea.

This is just an unethical crime.

What matters is the fact that the south Korean puppets are still thrusting leaflets and dirty objects into our territory.

We must counter it toughly.
