A delegation of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD), led by Secretary General An Yuejun, paid a visit to Russia at the invitation of the Soviet Peace Fund, which is of great importance for our organization. On Sunday, June 30, the distinguished guests were met by the relevant representatives of the Soviet Peace Fund, including comrades Sergei Baburin (Chairman of the Board of the Soviet Peace Fund) and Viktor Petrov (Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK International Solidarity Group, Chairman of the Russian Society of Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK). An interesting discussion took place on issues of cooperation between the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament and the Soviet Peace Fund. The respected Comrade An Yuejun, for his great personal contribution to the international peacekeeping movement, to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the PRC and the Russian Federation, was awarded highest award - the Gold Medal of the Soviet Peace Fund. A speech was made by Viktor Petrov, one of the oldest employees of the Soviet Peace Fund, head of cooperation programs with China, Vietnam and the DPRK. The parties exchanged memorable gifts. After the completion of the negotiations, the participants took photographs in the Red Hall of the Metropol at a memorial plaque in Russian, Chinese and English, confirming that it was in this hall in 1950 that Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong signed a historic treaty of friendship between the USSR and the PRC. On July 1, the delegation was received by Kazbek Taisaev (First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Union of Communist Parties, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Deputy of the Russian Parliament). The Chinese guests visited the Institute of Geodesy and Engineering Surveys in Construction. Director Bogdanov, introducing the guests to the work of the institute, specifically highlighted cooperation with Chinese partners. He said that there is hardly a museum in the world that has such a rich collection of Russian newspapers going back 300 years and such a selection of authentic American magazines with covers dedicated to historical figures of the USSR and Russia. On July 2, a meeting of the head of the delegation with Alexander Mostov (Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG) took place on Red Square. The meeting participants visited the Lenin Mausoleum and other memorable places.
