Mourning Meeting at University of World Civilizations

With each day approaching the mourning anniversary of the untimely death of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il (December 17), the hearts of all progressive people of the world who sympathize with the just cause of the Korean people are filled with grief.

Against this background, on November 30, the Friendship Club with the DPRK under our organization at the University of World Civilizations held a funeral meeting and a round table “The legacy of the Leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Il in the memory of the Russian and Korean peoples.” The event was attended by senior officials of the DPRK International Solidarity Group (DPRK IGS), teachers and students of the University.

 

 

Alexey Legoshin, Teacher at the Faculty of International Relations and Geopolitics and Head of the Friendship Club with the DPRK, supervised the event. Speaking with the report “The Secrets of Kim Jong Il’s Popularity and Success” he noted:

“Leader Kim Jong Il traveled on inspection trips to all corners of the country, always spoke enthusiastically about the beauties of his native nature, mountains and plains, sea expanses, and constantly communicated with ordinary people. He constantly thought and with acute pain in his soul talked about how to improve his native spaces.”

Alexander Mostov, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG, under whose care a wonderful club was opened at the University, in his speech praised the merits of the great Comrade Kim Jong Il in defending the Motherland and the cause of socialism on a global scale, and told those present about how hard the Korean people accepted the news of the death of their Leader:

“He devoted himself all his life to the struggle for the victory of the Juche revolutionary cause, developing tireless and energetic activities for the prosperity of the socialist Motherland, for the happiness of the people, the unification of Korea and the independence of all countries of the world.”

Chairman Mostov announced a minute of silence. All conference participants paid tribute to the memory of the Great Leader of the Korean people.

Then Alexander Vorontsov, Head of the Korea and Mongolia Department of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK as part of our organization, gave a big lecture. He spoke in detail about the life path of Comrade Kim Jong Il, his contribution to nation-building and resolving the issue of succession.

Svetlana Sherokhova, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the University of World Civilizations, made a report “Prospects for the development of relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK.” University students also gave speeches and reports.

Then the senior officials of our organization were given an excursion to the office of Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky, the founder of the University.
