On July 13, at 19:24 Kyiv time (July 14, at 1:24 Pyongyang time), a statement was posted on the official website of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry about the severance of diplomatic relations with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Previously, Ukraine has repeatedly taken pronounced hostile actions against the DPRK, such as insulting the supreme dignity of the Republic, slandering the socialist system, participating in a “human rights” conspiracy, and supporting the south Korean puppet regime.
