On December 24, a general meeting was held at the Pyongyang Koryo restaurant to mark the 12th anniversary of the nomination of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to the post of Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the DPRK Armed Forces.

Alexander Mostov, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the DPRK International Solidarity Group (DPRK ISG), a fellow organization led the event.

It was attended by senior officials of our Group from Russia, China, Tajikistan and the European Union, including comrades Li Jizheng (Vice-Chairman of the Coordination Committee), Tim Trendelkamp (Ideological Leader of the European Executive Committee), Murodbek Yuldoshev (Ideological Leader of the Tajik Executive Committee), Konstantin Asmolov and Vitaly Lebedev (members of the Scientific Committee), Alexey Legoshin (Head of the Friendship Club with the DPRK at the University of World Civilizations). Comrade Viktor Petrov (Chairman of the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK) attended remotely due to illness. The event was also attended by an artist and musician from the Russian Executive Committee.

Chairman Mostov gave a speech in which he praised the major achievements of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un, who created a powerful industrial base for the rearmament of the Korean People's Army (KPA). He highlighted the fact that the successful launch of the Mulligyong-1 reconnaissance satellite clearly demonstrates the achievements of the course of the respected comrade Kim Jong Un, and raised a toast to the health of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

On behalf of Chairman Mostov, Vitaly Lebedev, Military Expert of the Scientific Committee, made a report. The speech noted that under the leadership of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, who follows Kim Jong Il's principles, the DPRK has made a big leap in creating ultra-modern artillery systems, and spoke about the Republic's latest successes in the field of rocket science.

Comrade Tim Trendelkamp reported on the state of affairs in the European Executive Committee and discussed with Chairman Mostov the possibilities of forming regional cells, taking into account similar experience in Russia.

During the discussion with Konstantin Asmolov, the need to make changes to the structure of the Solidarity Group was noted: dividing the organization into three departments will allow for the correct distribution of responsibilities between senior officials from different countries. In his opinion, our organization managed to overcome the main problems of “leftist” organizations and turn into a social force that makes a certain contribution to the destruction of myths about the DPRK.

Then Comrade Mostov announced that the 5th Organizational Conference, held from July 15 to 22 in parallel with the Congress, was suspended due to a sudden deterioration in the situation of one of the executive committees of the organization. The 6th Organizational Conference, logically continuing the fifth, should sum up the results of the 2nd International Congress of Solidarity and elect the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG (2nd convocation).

It was noted that the 1st Department should seriously rethink its attitude towards the so-called. “non-systemic left” in connection with the hostile anti-Republican actions of leftist elements, and the 3rd Department - to comprehensively strengthen measures to ensure the safety of activists. And the 2nd Department, in close cooperation with the heads of executive committees and primary cells in universities, is obliged to actively promote educational work, giving priority to exposing black myths in the minds of young people.

Comrade Mostov especially emphasized:

“Our Group must be a reliable organization that activists can count on. It is necessary to keep the situation in countries with anti-communist legislation under special control, take into account all potential threats to the security of executive committees, and also promptly develop emergency response plans from providing financial and legal assistance to evacuation to friendly countries.” 

The meeting participants came to the unanimous conclusion that the decision of July 2018 to privatize the Inminchoson (People's Korea) media project in favor of Vladislav Romanenko, whose incompetent and self-centered actions subsequently led to the complete loss of the Solidarity Group's long-term video archive, was made based on characteristics of personal relationships and does not correspond to the current interests of our organization. The decision on privatization was declared invalid: at the meeting, a rough plan for the partial restoration of lost content was outlined, and a “road map” was outlined for the creation and development of a new Internet archive of significant video materials from the DPRK.

Comrade Murodbek Yuldoshev spoke in detail about the activities of the Komsomol of Tajikistan and made several proposals for the work of the Tajik Executive Committee of our organization, and Comrade Alexey Legoshin discussed with Chairman Mostov the promotion of the work of the Friendship Club with the DPRK at the University.

In turn, Comrade Li Jizheng reported on the state of affairs in the Chinese Executive Committee and put forward a number of specific proposals, after which he raised a toast to the health of Chairman Mostov and the successful advancement of the cause of our organization.

Participants of the general meeting familiarized themselves with the list of persons nominated by the 6th Organizational Conference to the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG of the second convocation.

The following have been nominated for particularly responsible positions:

• Director of the 1st Department - Viktor Petrov (Chairman of the Russian Society for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK)
• Director of the 2nd Department - Konstantin Asmolov (leading researcher at the Center for Korean Studies at the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences)
• Director of the 3rd Department - Andrey Shin (Lieutenant Colonel of Russian Police)

Then there were reports from the remaining meeting participants. The speeches especially emphasized the need to evaluate success not by loud slogans and empty promises, but by practical actions that bring tangible benefits to the organization: during 2024, the Group must solve priority problems associated with doing business by integrating into the market system of the relevant countries according to their legislation.

The general meeting ended with a touching musical performance by activist Artemy Tolmach, who performed several Korean folk and military songs.

The meeting participants watched a film about the military achievements of the era of Marshal Kim Jong Un and took photographs for memory.
