On April 20, the Korean Societies for Friendship with European Countries sent a joint statement of solidarity to the Coordination Committee of the DPRK ISG.

Dear comrades and friends!
We recently solemnly celebrated the 110th anniversary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung in the jubilation of the Korean people and the progressive peoples of the world.
Seeing the solemn events that you sincerely glorify with your sincere efforts, the entire Korean people once again felt what wonderful people our Leaders are.
Indeed, April is a significant month associated with the history of great people.
On April 25, we will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, which is the first revolutionary army in the history of the Korean nation.
The creation of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was a historic event that inspired the Korean people with great strength and courage and opened a new phase in the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
President Kim Il Sung, starting with two pistols, created an invincible revolutionary military force, gave our people a mighty sword for self-discovery of destiny, and provided a solid military foundation to guarantee the dignity and prosperity of the nation from generation to generation.
One word cannot describe all the unfading merits of President Kim Il Sung in building the armed forces.
Thanks to this day, our people were able to have powerful armed forces with them, thwart all outside interference and aggressive intrigues, and follow the unified path of the Juche revolution.
The Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il endowed with an iron will to complete the Juche revolutionary cause begun by President Kim Il Sung with a gun, strengthened and developed the people's army with unfading revolutionary armed forces. He created the defense industry of the country into a powerful industry, capable of producing any modern weaponry in the most severe period of our revolution in the most severe period of our revolution.
Today, our people, having Comrade Kim Jong Un, another outstanding General, were able to meet a new era of state prosperity.
Touching pictures of the military parade solemnly held in honor of the Eighth Congress of the WPK are opening before our eyes.
We will not be able to forget that evening, those pictures that demonstrated the mighty strength of our armed forces, fulfilled the aspiration of the five thousand-year history of the nation - the great deed of a mighty state and strong armed forces.
This is a demonstration of the might of our Motherland moving forward under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un.
This was an amazing event that made it possible to build a powerful world-class defense capability, unprecedented in the history of our Republic, and satisfied the long-awaited aspiration of our people - the accomplishment of the construction of state nuclear armed forces.
As the whole world watched recently, we once again convinced the fundamental development of defense capability along with the successful launch of the Hwasongpho-17 ICBM. We cannot think of all these amazing successes in isolation from April 25, 1932.
Now the geopolitical fatalism of the Korean Peninsula has become an irrevocable past affair.
Before our eyes, the path to strengthening the armed forces emerges, which outstanding great people had to accomplish, taking on a difficult historical mission to reliably protect the security of the Motherland and grow a powerful and absolute force in the name of dignity, happiness and prosperity from generation to generation.
Our country had to build socialism under the constant threat of hostile forces, continuing from century to century.
Proceeding from such a requirement and the peculiarities of the Korean Revolution, the strengthening of the defense capability becomes a necessary, vitally important state matter, which our Party, government and people should by no means miss.
To have an indestructible armed force that no one dares to touch and continue to strengthen it is the unshakable most important policy, goal and will of our Party.
Your support and solidarity for the just deeds of our people will continue to be a great inspiration for our people.
