Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the WPK and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the DPRK, gave field guidance to the Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory.

He was accompanied by senior officials of the Party Central Committee and the State Affairs Commission.

The Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory was established on July 25, 1969, and has a proud 50-year-long history of its development. It was strengthened into a standard factory of modernization and robotization and a model factory of the Juche-oriented machine-building industry. It is a significant factory visited by the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il several times.

Kim Jong Un said the factory reminds him of the great Kim Jong Il who had been so pleased while looking round the process of robotization of the machining workshop in which CNC machine tools and robots were working in the last time of his life. He also impressively said the Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory has turned into a leading machine manufacturer playing an important role in the development of the national economy under the wise guidance and meticulous care of the great leaders.

Kim Jong Un went round different workshops of the factory and new products to learn in detail about the technical reconstruction and production.

He highly appreciated that the factory has powerfully conducted the technical innovation movement under the banner of self-reliance based on modern science and technology to study and introduce a profitable method to normalize production without using expensive imported metallic materials at all and produce a lot of machines of high performance, giving great benefits to the state.

Acquainting himself with the manufacturing of the dragging lifts to be set up in the ski resort of the hot-spring tourist area in Yangdok County, a new task given by the party recently, he stressed the need to learn in detail about the merits and demerits which appeared in the course of operating the dragging lifts manufactured and sent by the factory to a number of ski resorts at home in the past and take measures to further raise the quality of the goods lest the people should feel any inconvenience in using the lifts made by our workers.

Kim Jong Un saw new equipment for production of potato farina manufactured by the factory and praised that they had been made well. And he said the factory should, in the future, too, produce modern and highly efficient new-type machinery and equipment badly needed in different sectors of the national economy on the highest level, which are as good as imported ones, to localize the machinery and equipment in modernizing the production processes of the industrial establishments including the foodstuff factories.

Saying the Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory is playing an important role in putting the national economy on a Juche-oriented and modern basis, he gave specific instructions on putting the technical equipment and production processes of the factory on a highly modern, scientific and precision footing and rebuilding the factory on a modern basis according to the demand of the developing reality and presented ways for it.

Kim Jong Un said the party attaches great importance to the Jangjagang Machine Tool Factory and expressed the belief that the factory would, in the future, produce a greater number of latest machines conducive to the socialist economic construction and thus make a great contribution to developing the machine-building industry of the country into a new high stage.
